We'd like to play at your event; give us a call and book in early!
The Yardarm Folk Orchestra is a community-oriented organisation in south Essex, UK,  playing British and international folk music  throughout the region, often at community, charity or other fundraising events. We've played at the Leigh Folk Festival and the Tenterden Folk Festival in Kent as well as at other high profile events in Sussex, Essex, Kent and London including spots at the Cliffs Pavilion, Southend and the London Palladium.

We hire premises at Benfleet Methodist Church, 67 High Road Benfleet, Essex SS7 5LH as a base and we practise there on Monday evenings.  Please see the 'About Us' and other pages on the menu at the left for more information about these activities.

NEW MEMBERS

New members are always welcome to join us and you are invited to contact us first with any questions.  Most instruments are suitable and although there are no auditions or minimum qualifications it is desirable, even if you haven't played for some time, that you can get a tune out of your instrument!

NEXT MAJOR PUBLIC PERFORMANCE

PRIORY HOUSE, PRIORY PARK, SOUTHEND.
SATURDAY 9TH DECEMBER

On Saturday 9th December, between 4.00 and 6.30pm several members of the YFO will participate in a very special performance in the historic Priory House in Priory Park, Southend. The current list of VIP supporters for this important event includes Sir David Amess MP, Southend Mayor Fay Evans and former Mayor Judith McMahon.
We're hoping many of you will spare a couple of hours from your busy lives to come along and support a worthy cause. There's a varied program and full details of the event (and how to book tickets) will be found at this website address:

Or you can call Southend YMCA and they will book tickets for you over the phone on 01702 301301 - Ask for Brad, Syrie, Louise, Sacha or Josh. We'd really love to see as many of you as possible there; it will be a really good atmospheric afternoon with a difference in the Great Hall of this historic old house.
